Why I'm Massively Increasing My Top Dressing in 2026
+ My FREE Lawn Plan Download
It's nearly time to get my grass looking lush and thick again.
This year I'll of course be using the full renovation kit. But with one very important change. I'm putting 3kg per m2 of 70/30 top dressing down.
Why so much 70/30? Well my soil is pretty messed up right now. We've been playing football on it all Winter, the ground is sooo compact and moss is coming back in.
This will benefit it for a good few years. That means I need to change my calendar slightly I'm also changing my seed I'm going to use the Fast Growing premiership Lawn Seed instead of my Premium Shade seed.
It's a 100% Ryegrass so feeding tends to be more important in the cooler months than with the shade and fescue seeds.
Though it also reacts excellently to a high-nitrogen fertiliser and makes it more hard-wearing / better for playing footy on.
Also, my plan is to keep the grass slightly longer and significantly improve the soil for the grass. What's more, I'm doing mine a bit earlier because I will be way busy packing orders in March/April - when it should be done because temps are higher.
Ryegrass is more suited to earlier applications.
My calendar shows the length of time in between rather than the exact dates Please note: dates are subject to slight changes due to life commitments 😅 and weather ☀️
