A large handheld caster jug spreader that will allow you to spread up to 80m2 worth of granular lawn feed in one visit. Specially designed for tough durability. It can be used in all weather and has an ergonomic feel, which makes it lighter when spreading granules on the lawn. This spreader will last you years.
How to use the large 2.5 litre handheld seed & feed Spreader
- If you’re weighing out the product, simply take the lid off, place the jug on the scales and tare the scales to zero before you pour the granules in.
- Measure your lawn and break it into 1-4 sections depending on the amount of product the jug can hold (see below).
- Weigh out the correct amount of feed or seed to be applied
- Choose the right holes for the job depending on how fast you want to apply the product
- Scatter the feed or seed across the lawn from the outside inwards, then the middle of the area
What size lawn is a 2.5 Litre handheld seed and feed spreader best for?
A 2 litre hand held jug spreader is perfect for lawns up to about 160m2. It can still be used on lawns over that size but you may need to make 2-3 trips (refills) depending on which product you’re applying with it. It has markings on the bottle that go up in 500ml increments. Meaning it’s also perfect for smaller lawns if you don’t need to fill it right up to the top.
How much product can this jug spreader hold and what’s the coverage?
The spreader is mostly used for fertiliser or grass seed but each of these have different densities so it won’t hold the same amount of both. Below is a guide as to how much you can fit in each and what coverage you’ll get for each. Please note this is only a guide and it’s highly recommended to weigh out all products before use.
Lawn Feed or Fertiliser
The jug holds approximately 2,400g of lawn feed. Spread at 30g per m2, this will give you 80m2 coverage
Grass Seed
The jug holds approximately 750g of grass seed. For overseeding at 25g per m2, coverage would be 30m2 or 20m2 for seeding from scratch
